Baikal - Baikal Questions

Pytanie #1:

slugs out of a baikal shotgun?

I have a Bail 12 gauge shotgun. Model IZH-18-EM, I have no clue if I should or shouldn't shoot align from this barrel. I know its a controversial matter. How could I go about figuring what type of choke if any and what type of barrel is on this gun? I'm a newbie when it come to this sort of stuff, if you couldnt already tell. Thanks in advance for any info.
Baikal* stupid predictive text on phones...
*slugs once again stupid phones...how does it get align from slug? Lol...
@RIchard:

If I detach my forehand from my barrel, and then my barrel from receiver I see some markings underneath. One of which is an "M" with (0.5) right next to it. Is this signifying a "Modified choke"?

Pytanie #2:

Which one would you consider the best semi-auto 12 ga. shotgun? Why?

For hunting pheasants, so probably shoot 2 3/4" and 5 or 6 oz shot. Looking for best value for the money. I want a good, reliable and affordable, all-around shotgun. If you could help me out it would be much appreciated, thanks.

Remington spr453 Baikal $397.00
Mossberg 935 $437.00 Is this more of a turkey gun (for larger shells) or would it matter?
Remington New England Arms $317.00

I heard Remington discontinued the Baikal brand?
Do you happen to know anything about any of these?
Buying as a gift. I know there are better but then I run into a price issue.

Pytanie #3:

Why would you prefer a RIMMED cartridge in a single shot rifle over a RIMLESS cartridge?

This Canadian guy on youtube bought a Russian Baikal IZH Single Shot Rifle. He had his choice of .308 Winchester, or 7.62 x 54mmR (Mosin-Nagant) and said he bought the rifle in the Soviet/Russian 7.62x 54mmR because it would work better with the extractor in a single shot rifle. Huh? Why would that be? Also, the same guy owns another rifle, exact same model in .222 Remington. I thought .222 Remingtion was rimless. Also the same rifle was available in .223. Why would anyone buy a gun in .222 Remington, when you could get it in .223 and buy all that cheap surplus ammo. Nothing this guy did or said made sense to me.

Pytanie #6:

Is it safe for a single female traveller (South Asian) to visit Russia?

I was hoping to visit Moscow and St Petersburg this July, and Lake Baikal if I have the time. After reading posts on various forums about racist attitudes towards non-whites in Russia, I was wondering whether it would be a wise idea for me, South Asian and travelling alone, to go there. Any suggestions? Would be a pity though; I've really wanted to visit these places for a long time.

Pytanie #7:

Is there sufficient water in Lake Baikal in Russia to feed the whole 6 billion population on earth?

Pytanie #9:

Should my pellet gun have an orange tip?

I have a 650 FPS Baikal IZH-MP514K that shoots .177 caliber lead pellets. In online pictures, it doesn't always have an orange tipped barrel, and I have seen many measly 400 FPS Daisy BB guns that don't have orange tips. I'm also worried that it might be dangerous to pass a capable gun like this as just a toy.

Pytanie #17:

Thinking about getting a new boomstick?

Since my shotty is in the shop still... after about a month (the 'smith found another thing wrong with it), I've been looking thru some local adds and websites of gun shops and I have been wanting to get an o/u and found a few o/us that are between $400 and $500.

Now, I know you get what you pay for, but the brand of the gun/s which I found that are within that price range are mostly Baikals. Never heard of em before.. also says that the manufacturer is US Sporting Goods, anyone here have experience around/with the brand/manufacturer?
Here's a link to the gun/s:
12 ga: Click Here
20 ga: Click Here
(above 2 links are the exact gun, just different gauge)

Here's another that caught my eye (remember, I'm just looking around, nothing is no where near set in stone):
Any one have any previous experience with the gun in the above link or know anything about it?

Well, any info than what I can find on the 3 guns in the links would be useful.
Thanks yall.

So, since the guns in the links don't have reviews, thought I'd ask yall here.
How else am I not going to know about them if I don't ask questions?
The 'standby'... its an Escort semi.. was jammed and had to be taken to a 'smith. Then the gunsmith found something wrong with the trigger assembly, then that got fixed, then the gun jammed again with the Winchester AAs (which it normally cycles) and something else was found that was wrong with it to.
Really like the gun in the 1st link Tahoe- thanks. Only prob. next.. what gauge? lol

Pytanie #22:

which is the best pellet for a 22cal baikal mp513m air rifle and why?

i use baracuda match, silver point, and crow magnum! all r excellent in accuracy. But in long ranges it doesnt penetrate a 1-1.5 cm wood board. My air rifle produces 25 joules according to baikal. what is the optimum weight in grains and best shape of pellet to achieve maximum energy transfer to the target?

Pytanie #23:

is baracuda pellets best for my baikal mp513m rifle at 22cal? what about other h&n pellets and why??

the rifle is at 25joules. and its a break barrel. also take into account that the weight of the pellet could stain or damage the spring or mechanism of the rifle. How is it posible to determine which weight stains and damages less and what shape and friction has and develops....

thanks
i email h&n and the customer support says yes baracuda is the best for my gun

Pytanie #24:

What's the best single shot shotgun to get?

I just went clay pigeon shooting for the first time today and am thinking about buying a single shot shotgun. I would be using the gun for almost only clay pigeon shooting and not for hunting. The problem becomes that I know next to nothing about what to choose when it comes to buying one. haha. I want a 12 gauge, and I'd like to get one for under $200 or not far over that.

These are the ones that I was looking at to possibly get.
H&R Pardner
H&R Topper/Topper Deluxe/Topper Deluxe Classic
Remington SPR100
Rossi Full Size Field Grade
Baikal 18FM-M
EAA/Baikal IZH-18
Stoeger Single Barrel

I'd really appreciate any advice on those guns or any others.
Thanks a lot.
the browning 410's that i found cost upwards from $3,000. i said not much more than $200

Pytanie #25:

Young Earth Creationists, a question.?

I'm sorry this is long, I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt.

In many old rivers and lakes, there is a change in the color of sediment from season to season, for example, brown in the spring as clay is drawn from rocks during heavy rain and black in the winter. If you place something in this sediment flux, and then come back, you can tell how long you were gone by counting the sediment layers, which we call varves. If you were gone for 10 years, for example, there would be 10 years worth of changes above whatever you placed.

We regularly use this technique to date things like airplane parts from crashes, the remains of bodies, even to date the pollution emitted by factories.

Bearing in mind we can see varves form, how do you account for a young earth when some varves have records going back literally millions of years?

Please do not feel attacked, I'm genuinely curious why there would be over 5 million layers in a place like Lake Baikal when we can witness them form yearly, and use them to date known events in history...
Let's please leave blatant lies out of this. If anyone wants to cite 'facts,' please be prepared to provide a source.

Where do Edelweiss come from originally?

On a recent visit to Lake Baikal, Siberia, I photographed Edelweiss. When I showed the photo to Swiss friends, one of them said, 'Edelweiss come from Switzerland.' Mind you, when I asked where tulips come from, she said 'The Netherlands.'
If the flower were blue in would be called Gentian, (or in Switzerland Enzian) and I saw them growing in Mongolia. I'm sure my friend would say the plant was also from Switzerland.

Pytanie #39:

What do you think about this article from sky news?

12:09pm UK, Tuesday July 28, 2009

Declassified files on the Russian Navy's encounters with UFOs have suggested the objects are big fans of water.

Lake Baikal, the scene of several unexplained incidents

A number of incidents were reported at Lake Baikal, the deepest lake in the world, including powerful lights and objects coming out from the water, Russia Today said.

In one case in 1982, military divers training at the lake said they spotted a group of humanoid creatures dressed in silver suits at a depth of 50 metres.

They tried to catch the visitors but three of the seven men died in the process, while four others were severely injured in the incident, according to the records.

On another occasion, a nuclear submarine on a combat mission in the Pacific Ocean detected six unknown objects.

The captain of the vessel ordered the crew to bring it to the surface after failing to shake off the pursuers.

The objects followed them up before flying away into the sky, the newly published files claimed.

Further mysterious events happened in the Bermuda Triangle area, including instruments on ships and submarines breaking down for no apparent reason.

Former navy officer Rear Admiral Yury Beketov said deliberate disruption from UFOs, which were detected "moving at incredible speed", could have been to blame.

He said: "It was like the objects defied the laws of physics. There's only one explanation: the creatures who built them far surpass us in development."

The records, which date back to Soviet times, were compiled by a special navy group tasked with collecting reports of unexplained incidents from submarines and military ships.

Every goverment around the world has there own catalog of reported sightings and close enounters, those countries who decide to reveal this knowledge show that a high number of these were serious enough to be investigated by highly trained professional military personal. Look into it and read up these accounts. There are number of accounts from military personal with VERY close encounters. They all can't be misinterpreting what they see, as
weather balloons, chinese lanterns, remote controlled men in funny suits or whtever. It is to me very bizzare that these men are highly trained, yet there accounts are reduced to some ridculous explanation.

From my experience, before I even had my first sighting, I knew that the voice of truth does not lie, especially particularly, when it is shouting, leaving pointers everywhere. It is good to be sceptical, but when our skeptism grows beyond our capacity to control it, truth can look you right in the eyes and one will not see it. Bless you!

Pytanie #47:

My wife disappeared, what should I do?

My wife Mary has numerous friends, and not all of them are suitable, I believe. Thus, she allows a Leonard Bilsiter to come to us, and he is, to put it bluntly, a liar. This Leonard, in company with a friend, who was interested in a Ural mining concern, made a trip across Eastern Europe at a moment when the great Russian railway strike started; its outbreak caught him on the return journey, somewhere on the further side of Perm, and while waiting for a couple of days at a wayside station he made the acquaintance of a dealer in harness and metalware, who taught him a fragmentary system of folk-lore of Trans-Baikal traders and natives. Leonard came back here and started going around, talking about "Siberian Magic". He said that he could turn people into animals. My wife said that she would like to be turned into a she-wolf. We had a dinner party, with a lot of guests, and just finished the desert. Mary took some desert dishes to the conservatory, to feed the macaws. Then suddenly birds started screaming, and a wolf appeared from among the fern and azalea! We all thought it was a stupid joke. We managed to lure the wolf away, and went to the conservatory, and Mary was not there! All the doors were locked, and it's not a large place and there is nowhere to hide! It seems that this Leonard really can turn people into animals! But how is it possible? And if it's not, where is Mary? And what am I to do with the wolf? I want my wife back, what should I do?

In Russia,...in the Southern area of Siberia,... there is a Massive freshwater lake. The largest freshwater lake in the world. And, it is supposedly the deepest lake in the world period. That Lake is Lake Baikal.

This is one SERIOUSLY Big Lake!!! And, amazingly it is SERIOUSLY clean!!! It has to be the cleanest lake in the World. It is Amazing!!!!!!! The visibility in this lake is so crystal clear that its unreal!!!

Now evidently, the REASON Lake Baikal is SO CLEAN is because there is some kind of creature called "Epischura Baicalensis" which keeps it clean.

What is "Epischura Baicalensis???" and, HOW does it keep the lake clean.

More importantly, whatever "Epischura Baicalensis" is,..... it is endemic to Lake Baikal,.....Which means it exsits NO WHERE else in the Planet.

My question is two parts,...

Part 1 : What exactly is Epischura Baicalensis???

AND

Part 2 : Why don't people put this Epischura Baicalensis in every lake in the World??? Who wouldn't want clean beautiful lakes???

Does anyone even know what I'm talking about???
